The report presents the initial results on the impact of participation in Islamiyya schools as opposed to regular SS schools on girls’ levels of religiosity and future life aspirations. School-Based Management Committees (SBMCs) work to increase communities’ involvement with education, hold schools accountable, and to help improve the quality and effectiveness of schools. They provide a way of helping the education authorities to listen to what adults and children want from schools, and a way of increasing the contributions of everyone in the local area to making education work well.
